Where would breathtaking Koviou Beach be?

That beach is about 10km's from Metamorfosi. Follow the road through Nikiti, turn right at the junction towards Neos Marmaras, follow the road for about 3k's and you'll see the beach as you approach. A fantastic beach, small car park off the road at the top, bit of a climb down and you're there. There are sunbeds available and a beach bar at the far end of the beach.

Great, thanks. :)

Searching for must-visit beaches of Halkidiki, I came across these names: Agia Varvara beach, Agios Nikolaos Fourka beach (near Vourvourou), Dimitraki beach, Spathies (near Nikiti), Tripotamos beach.

I suppose you are familiar with them. Are Agia Varvara, Dimitraki and Tripotamos Sithonia's beaches or...?

Good day to you.

Hi,

There is a beach called Agia Varvara near Nikiti and Tripotamos is further down the coast towards Neos Marmaras (all in Sithonia). The only beach I know called Dimitraki is way up on the east coast above the Athos peninsular.

Nic.

Hello!

Questions, again.

What is the situation with jellyfish, bees and mosquitoes in Sithonia in July? Should I worry?

Thanks. :)

Hello,

Jellyfish - no problems, they don't arrive untill September. Bees make the very nice Halkidiki honey (which you can buy in Nikiti), they don't cause any problems. Mosquitoes can be a pain, just remember to keep your fly sceens closed after sundown and buy some repellent from the supermarkets.
Here's a quick fact  - mosquitoes like alcohol, the more you drink, the more they are attracted to you. Seems they like a good night out too!

Hi...There might be a few about but not enough to be a problem. August is probably the worst month for them. If you use repellent when you're out and light a citronella candle when back at the hotel if you want to sit out you'll be ok. If you are susceptible to bites, always carry one of those 'afterbite' sticks with you. Dab some on the bite straight away and the bite vanishes. They're very good.
 Try avoid bananas, they are attracted to the oils in bananas as the body procceses it. Vitamin B1 is also a good way to keep them away for some reason. Take a tablet a day while you're on holiday.
I think I'll start a new thread....Mozzy Remedies

:D I agree with lucky lady, AVON skin so soft dry oil body spray in soft and fresh (new name for woodland fresh) does keep away all kinds of bugs, including mozzies. I sell Avon to friends and work colleagues and they all buy it in great quantities, and swear by it, as I do myself!

Defo one to buy in bulk!

Hmmm...I'll remember that. I'll have to see if it's sold here. There is Avon here but all the products have different name. I'll look...

:D

There is a website www.avon.co.uk where you can order from (but not sure if they will deliver to Greece!) or let me know and I can maybe organise supplies for you - although I won't be coming over until September! Wish I was coming earlier that is for sure!

:P
