Gallery Update! 08/05/08

We've now updated the Gallery! There are now 2 galleries to choose from, as I am a photographer here in Halkidiki I have included a gallery of my personal photographs from around Halkidiki. There is also a gallery for your pictures. Feel free to upload your pictures, you can also comment and vote on your favorites. The best photograph uploaded each week will appear on the main gallery page.

A few more pictures have been added to the users gallery. I've also added one that I took today from the mountains behind Polygyros. From there you can get great views of all three peninsulars. I marked each on the picture, you'll need to view it large to make them out!

If you get chance you really must take a trip up into the mountains, the scenery is fantastic and may provide a welcome relief from the heat, it's doesn't get quite as humid up there and the air is fresher. Buy yourself a good map, I use the ROAD EDITIONS map of Halkidiki as it shows all the roads. A good day trip would be to drive out from Vourvourou, through Nikiti towards Gerakini, then head up to Polygyros (where I live) then drive through the mountainous sceney of Holomontas to the picturesque village of Arnea, then head out towards Ierrisos and follow the road back down the coast to Vourvourou. You'll see all sorts of scenery and villages along the way. Well worth a day out!

Public Gallery is offline for the time being. I am creating a new user album which will include a host of new features. The gallery should be up and running within the next few days. I'll post a new message here once it's up and running....

Well, it's too warm to sleep tonight, so I've finally got some time to upload some pictures that I've taken recently. I'll update the titles and descriptions soon.
